Christmas morning

I always give Zac a hard time about Christmas morning because our first Christmas together we were at his parents house. Zac went out to work and I stayed in bed....when he came in awhile later I was in my pj's and he wanted to know why I didn't get up and get ready. I was confused and said it is Christmas can't we just stay in our pj's? He told me that his mom and sisters always get ready while the guys are out at the dairy so everyone looks nice in pictures. Thanks babe..that is something I sort of need advance notice on! I had to hurry and get ready so that everyone wasn't waiting on us.

Well this year Zac left at 6 a.m. to feed and thought he would be home by 7 and could take a quick shower and then we would head over to his parents house. Well one of the trucks wasn't working quite right so we didn't end up there until around 9:30. Carson had stayed up so late the night before that we had to wake him up to go. Santa had visited our house and he was so excited! We put a few things in his stocking (my mom made it for him and everyone in the family has one just as cute!) and let him open them and then loaded everything into the car to go to grandma and grandpa's house. Carson wasn't very happy about seeing all the presents and then having them taken away!

Lots of Grandmas

On Christmas Eve Jill and I went into Twin Falls to do some shopping--that was a crazy place to be! Tianna (my sister in law who is a nanny in Virginia) flew home that afternoon so then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson's house for a few hours. After Zac got done with work we ate dinner with his family and then headed back to Filer to my grandparents house. Carson was so funny....he said, "I have lots of grandmas that love me!" We are so lucky to have family close and I am grateful that Carson gets to be around so many grandparents. He calls my mom Grandma Kris, Zac's mom Grandma Jake, my grandma is Grandma Ruth, and my other grandma is Grandma Aileen.

After that we went back to Zac's parents for a little while and then headed home. Carson got to sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn and loved that. I didn't have any cookies ready for Santa so we frosted animal crackers and put sprinkles on them. I told Carson that we would leave them out for Santa to eat and he told me, "I just want to eat them a minute."

Christmas with the Haney's

We celebrated Christmas with my family on the 23rd. My mom made my favorite dinner of ham and funeral potatoes--Yummy! I couldn't find our camera charger so my camera died and I don't have many pictures. This year we decided to do something different for our gift exchange and it was awesome. You had to: "Make it, Bake it, Sew it, or Grow it." Everyone's gifts turned out so fun. Carson gave Sarah a wreath, table runner, and a necklace. I gave Ryan homemade raspberry jam (my first attempt) and coupons for homemade bread. Zac gave Jill a necklace holder and necklace. I received a beautiful nursing cover from Sarah and Carson got an awesome Lion towel that even has a tail from Terry! Zac loved the NFL pj pants that my mom made for him. My mom and dad each got awesome quilts from Kaci and Ryan. Terry got a tin of homemade treats from Jill that we were all sneaking!

Playing in the Snow

I am trying to play catch up ....so here goes. These are from November 22. We had finally woken up to snow but couldn't go out to play because we had church. It seemed like the snow would probably be melted before we got home but it continued to snow all through church. The week before he had bought Carson boots and snow pants. He was so excited to go play! (The pictures are in the wrong order so start from the bottom)

Love this guy!

Camping July 09

Hogle Zoo August 09

County Fair and Rodeo Sept 09

Lake Cleveland Labor Day 09

Carson brings so much joy to our lives! I love this age, he is so excited to learn new things and is like a sponge soaking up everything around him. He says the funniest things. A few times he has told me not to freak out! Guess I better think more about what I say to him because he repeats everything. We are working on potty training right now and it is going pretty well. I went out of town last week for a getaway with my mom and I was impressed that Zac still worked on potty training with Carson. (I think he scared him into not peeing his pants!) It is great to not change diapers but now I don't want to leave my house. He wakes up dry a lot so I think I will try no diapers at night soon. Carson loves to sing and picks up songs from his PBS shows and the movies that he watches.....he also loves singing time at nursery. I am so excited for him to be a big brother and am grateful to be his mom!

An update

We are so excited to announce that a new baby will be joining our family in May. I had an ultrasound yesterday and they set my due date as May 6th. I have had so many things I wanted to post in the last month but have not been feeling well at all. This is new for me as I didn't get sick with Carson---makes me have more sympathy for those that do get sick! Every day it changes when we ask Carson if he wants a brother or sister. We are excited to have a baby so close to Ryan and Kaci......their baby is due four weeks earlier. It will be fun to have cousins the same age. Carson has been so funny! He thinks that there is a baby in his tummy and he will eat something and say, "my baby likes this!"
