Carson says....

I need to write down some of the things Carson says so I don't forget:

Carson walks up to me the other morning rubbing his tummy and says, "mommy my feelings are sick"

As we are leaving an appointment on Tuesday I tell him to hurry so we can go see Grandma. He tells the lady we are with, "Grandma is my big big boy!" I told him, "no you are grandma's big boy" so then he looks at the lady and says, "I am grandma's big, big boy because I am potty trained!"

Last night I was putting him to bed and we usually lay by him for a little while. I told him good night and that I loved him. He looks at me and says, "mom we are pals"

Carson walks up to Zac and I and says, "Buzz Lightyear tells Woody--you are a sad strange little man!"

Our little model

Each spring Zac goes out and hikes for hours and walks more miles than I care to even think about all to find elk antlers. Then we sell them on ebay. Zac would probably like to keep them but they don't do us any good just sitting there. It is a huge pain to ship the antlers but Zac has gotten really good at making the boxes, and it has been nice to have some extra cash. This is how he paid for my Wii for Christmas! Well we have a table set up in the spare room and I have to hold up the antlers and pose for a picture. Carson always wants to be in the picture and so Zac let him hold this tiny antler and pose for his own shot. I'm pretty biased but he is so dang adorable!

Lots of Posts!

I have made 10 posts in the last three days in order to be caught up. My goal is to print a blog book at the end of the year so my goal is to do around 5 posts a month. Scroll down to read all of our updates!

Ultrasound Results

We had our ultrasound last Monday and were very excited to find out that we are having a girl! I guess that Carson knew what he was talking about all along. I hope he isn't disappointed when we don't name her Rosie. Caillou on PBS has a sister named Rosie so Carson wants one too! She was measuring a few weeks behind so the doctor wanted us to have another ultrasound in 6-8 weeks to make sure she was on the right track. Hopefully she will just be a smaller baby that I can actually give birth to. I am planning on a VBAC this time around so hopefully it will work out for me. I am so excited because she will be around a month younger than Ryan and Kaci's baby girl. It will be fun to have two girls so close in age!

I took a few things into Once Upon A Child this last week and ended up with a $40 credit. They are having a clearance sale right now and anything with a redline through the price tag was only $1. I got 11 items that day and walked out with $30 cash. My mom went back with me on Saturday and I bought 18 more $1 items (some of them were 2 or 3 piece outfits!) So I didn't have to spend any money out of pocket and now I have tons of cute girl clothes. I told Zac I might have a shopping problem! I would rather stock up now for super cheap than have to pay prices in the stores though.

Playing with Logan

On Thursdays Logan gets to come over a play and Carson loves it. A lot of times throughout the week he will ask if Logan is coming today. Carson had been wanting to play out in the snow so I had Niki bring Logan's snow stuff and his new sled (Carson thinks it is a sleigh) and we headed out to play. It took a while to get to little guys dressed and out the door but I think they had fun. We need to get Carson a sled because he wanted to keep Logan's. We are hoping to go up to the mountains in the next few weeks so he can experience some real sledding!

Done with diapers!

.......Well at least until May. Carson is officially potty trained! We are so proud of him and he has done so well. A lot of time I will hear the toilet flush and he has gone all by himself. He won't even potty sitting down anymore, he has to stand "just like dad." A few weeks ago he had been wetting the bed at night so I bought a waterproof mattress pad. Of course he hasn't had an accident at night since then. I think it is funny that he can hold it sometimes 12 hours at night and I have to get up twice to go during that same time! He can only wear adjustable waist pants now because he is so skinny and his cloth diapers helped his pants stay up better.

Hot Tub Fun

The day before Jill left to head back to school in Washington, Carson wanted to go swimming. We didn't quite make it into the city pool so we went over to my grandparents house and they got in the hot tub. My grandpa LOVES this hot tub. He sits in it year round and grandma said that his hair would be frozen when he came in. For Christmas she bought him a swim cap to keep his head warm. It was freezing outside when we came over at about 9:30p.m. so Grandpa told Carson he could wear his cap. We had a hard time getting it on Carson's head! It squished up his face and he couldn't smile at us, he looked so funny! When Carson and Jill were done, Grandpa said, "I wear that hat" Carson then says, "oh you wear it when you were little?" We we laughing picturing Grandpa wearing this hat!

It was so fun to have Jill home during the break. She will graduate from WWCC this summer and is applying to Dental Hygiene school right now. She is applying to three different schools and we hope she gets in a bit closer to home (like at CSI's new program!)

1st Time Bowling

My mom and I took Carson bowling for the first time and he loved it! She has time off during the Christmas break and we were able to spend lots of time at her house. Wearing the shoes was his favorite....he didn't want to give them back when we were done.

Christmas with the Jacobson's

It was fun to have all the cousins together for Christmas. They pretty much ran all over the place and had a great time! We had breakfast first and then opened presents. I wrapped all of Carson's in the same paper so he could find them easier. When he couldn't find anymore he wanted to help everyone else open theirs. We hung out all day and played games and had good food, it was wonderful!

Zac and Carson playing with the swords Santa brought

Carson's new Lightening McQueen backpack

A tool set just his size

A movie from Aunt Tianna (We had so much fun seeing her and didn't want to say goodbye)

I can't believe this is the only picture I took of Zac....He got a really nice pair of hunting boots too!

I have been wanting a Wii for a long time and Zac totally surprised me!

Grandma Haney and Grandma Jake both got Carson Thomas the Train tracks and cars
...he LOVES them!!

Carson and Jace playing with one of Hailey's toys

Before I took our tree down, I had to get a picture. I love that he is wearing a Halloween shirt in front of the Christmas tree! Zac couldn't believe that I would take the tree down before New Years but I wanted it gone.

Christmas morning

I always give Zac a hard time about Christmas morning because our first Christmas together we were at his parents house. Zac went out to work and I stayed in bed....when he came in awhile later I was in my pj's and he wanted to know why I didn't get up and get ready. I was confused and said it is Christmas can't we just stay in our pj's? He told me that his mom and sisters always get ready while the guys are out at the dairy so everyone looks nice in pictures. Thanks babe..that is something I sort of need advance notice on! I had to hurry and get ready so that everyone wasn't waiting on us.

Well this year Zac left at 6 a.m. to feed and thought he would be home by 7 and could take a quick shower and then we would head over to his parents house. Well one of the trucks wasn't working quite right so we didn't end up there until around 9:30. Carson had stayed up so late the night before that we had to wake him up to go. Santa had visited our house and he was so excited! We put a few things in his stocking (my mom made it for him and everyone in the family has one just as cute!) and let him open them and then loaded everything into the car to go to grandma and grandpa's house. Carson wasn't very happy about seeing all the presents and then having them taken away!

Lots of Grandmas

On Christmas Eve Jill and I went into Twin Falls to do some shopping--that was a crazy place to be! Tianna (my sister in law who is a nanny in Virginia) flew home that afternoon so then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson's house for a few hours. After Zac got done with work we ate dinner with his family and then headed back to Filer to my grandparents house. Carson was so funny....he said, "I have lots of grandmas that love me!" We are so lucky to have family close and I am grateful that Carson gets to be around so many grandparents. He calls my mom Grandma Kris, Zac's mom Grandma Jake, my grandma is Grandma Ruth, and my other grandma is Grandma Aileen.

After that we went back to Zac's parents for a little while and then headed home. Carson got to sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn and loved that. I didn't have any cookies ready for Santa so we frosted animal crackers and put sprinkles on them. I told Carson that we would leave them out for Santa to eat and he told me, "I just want to eat them a minute."

Christmas with the Haney's

We celebrated Christmas with my family on the 23rd. My mom made my favorite dinner of ham and funeral potatoes--Yummy! I couldn't find our camera charger so my camera died and I don't have many pictures. This year we decided to do something different for our gift exchange and it was awesome. You had to: "Make it, Bake it, Sew it, or Grow it." Everyone's gifts turned out so fun. Carson gave Sarah a wreath, table runner, and a necklace. I gave Ryan homemade raspberry jam (my first attempt) and coupons for homemade bread. Zac gave Jill a necklace holder and necklace. I received a beautiful nursing cover from Sarah and Carson got an awesome Lion towel that even has a tail from Terry! Zac loved the NFL pj pants that my mom made for him. My mom and dad each got awesome quilts from Kaci and Ryan. Terry got a tin of homemade treats from Jill that we were all sneaking!

Playing in the Snow

I am trying to play catch up ....so here goes. These are from November 22. We had finally woken up to snow but couldn't go out to play because we had church. It seemed like the snow would probably be melted before we got home but it continued to snow all through church. The week before he had bought Carson boots and snow pants. He was so excited to go play! (The pictures are in the wrong order so start from the bottom)
