Cleaning up the clutter

I found a blog (http://cleaninguptheclutter.bogspot.com/) and the lady's goal is to dedicate 15 minutes a day towards cleaning up an area that is cluttered. This would be in addition to the regular housework. I thought that it was a really good concept and I have been trying to implement it at our house.

I would LOVE to have my house look like the rooms you see in magazines, but I doubt that will ever happen. I love not having clutter, I think it looks better and it is less stressful for me to have things put away. That being said my kitchen table is a stopping point for many things in our home. Zac always asks why we bought this nice furniture if we are just going to pile it with stuff. I am working on it but that project seems to always be there. Over the past few months as I have cleaned different areas in my home I have accumulated quite a pile of stuff. I am planning a yard sale next month at my parent's house. Zac's mom has some things and so does my grandma so we will see if we can make some extra cash.

We have almost lived here a year and for the most part the walls are still bare. I really want curtains in the bedrooms and some vinyl wall art/sayings. Hopefully I can make some money at the yard sale to get them.

So for today I spent my 15 minutes on Carson's room. He has A LOT of toys and scatters them all over his room. When I pick his toys up from around the house I usually just dump them in his room. Well today I went through all the toys, took out broken ones, put some clothes away that were too small, picked up all the books, and vacuumed. It looks much better now...he will probably have it messy by the end of the night, but in a week or so that can be my 15 minutes of cleaning up the clutter!

Carson found his old Halloween costume and hat/gloves from last year and wore them all morning.

Playing at the Park

Last week I took Carson to a park in Twin Falls and he loved it. There is a really good park in Castleford just a few miles away from us but last summer/fall he was still kind of little to play by himself. He didn't want to leave when it was time to go!

Beautiful Day!

We had such a beautiful day outside yesterday. After Stake Conference Zac set up some chairs on the front porch and we brought Carson's toys to the front lawn and just enjoyed the day. I tried to read a book but Carson doesn't stay in one place so I was running after him. We have 5 kittens that run all around and Carson loves them. He loves them a bit too much and I hope they are all still alive when it comes time to give them away. He thinks it is so funny to send them down his little slide. We are trying to teach him to be soft and not pick them up but it isn't going so well.

Easter #2

We spent Easter day with my family this year and it was so fun! Jill surprised my parents and drove home. She got in at 6 a.m. and was only able to stay until about 7 p.m. She is so funny, she just came home and went to bed and then came downstairs a few hours later and walked into my parents room and said happy EAster! They were really surprised! We hunted for eggs, had a great dinner and then dyed eggs.

I love this shirt that Carson is wearing. We got it from Crazy8 and the shoes too. If you can't see it clearly it says: Even my grandma recycles. My mom has always been really good at recycling so when I saw this shirt I had to get it.

Carson loves his Uncle Ryan! He always want to call Ryan and Kaci. We are so glad that we have been able to see them a lot the past year, we love spending time with them.

"Vitanins"

I ordered some koala pals vitamins from Melaleuca for Carson to take and he loves them. He thinks they are candy so we have had to stress that he just gets one. He will ask for a "vitanin" and say, "jus one" as he holds us one finger....so cute! The outfit that he is wearing was cracking me up so I had to take a picture. These cowboy boots are too small but he still wears them around. The sweatband he stole from his uncle Dylan and he loves to wear it around.
A few weeks ago I was getting really cold at night so I dug out this hat from the winter bag and was sleeping with it on. I am pretty sure that my cousin Rachel made it for me when her family had our name for Christmas a few years back. Anyways, Carson found it and wore it all around the house.

Easter #1

Conference weekend we celebrated Easter with Zac's parents and had a great time! The weather was perfect and we had an egg hunt that the boys loved. Carson would smile really big whenever he spotted an egg. Lisa took family pictures of all of us and one with all three boys so I need to get them from her. Jace and Carson cruisin' on their bikes

Grandma Jacobson gave each of the boys a truck filled with fun Easter things. I had to include this picture of the bubbles because I hadn't heard Carson in awhile so I went to check on him and he came out of Lisa's room with a bubble container that was empty. He had dumped the whole thing out on her dry-clean only bed spread.....little stinker!

"I made it" & grandpa Smith

I was sitting at the computer working on a game for a Relief Society party and Carson kept calling my name. Finally he came and got me and said "I made it" I look around the corner and see that he has stacked 12 cans of olives on top of each other and it didn't ever fall! He was so proud of himself, I had to grab the camera. (Guess I should put my groceries away a little faster!)This is Lisa's dad Leo Smith. He lives in a rest home in Pocatello with his wife Edna. Carson and I went with Lisa to his birthday party and had a fun time. Thanks for letting us tag a long grandma!

Sarah's Engaged!

Sarah is going to be married on Jul 31st to Terry Darrington from Raft River! They will be sealed in the Twin Falls Temple. Terry is a great guy and we are excited to have him join the family.

Walla Walla

Softball has been a big part of our lives for the past few years. We went to Sarah and Jill's high school games, then watched Sarah play for CSI, and now Jill is playing for WWCC (Walla Walla Community College) My parents were going to see her play so Carson and I invited ourselves to tagalong.....not sure why because I really don't like car trips and Carson tells us the he is "stuck" "get out" and "mommy hold you" the whole time he is not sleeping. It was a really quick visit but so worth it to see Jill. Next weekend the whole family is going to Ontario Oregon to see her play at Treasure Valley Community College. We are so proud of you Jill!

Prayers

Carson cracks me up...he says the funniest things sometimes. We have family prayers each night before bed and take turns. Last night was Carson's turn. He was kind of onery today so I helped him to say, "help us have a happy day" well all he heard was happy and he proceeded to sing a verse of happy birthday (sounds like happy dirthday to you!). Another time he was repeating what I told him to say...help us to sleep well..... and he only heard me say to.....so then he says....three...four...five!
