Learning to Paint

I have been slowly collecting a stash of craft supplies to make things with Carson...our latest adventure has been painting. He started out just on the paper and then decided it was more fun to pain on himself!

July

I finally made a list yesterday of some things that I would like to blog about. From the middle of June to the end of July it seemed like we had one thing after another. I thought that August would be slowed down but I am going to Utah twice for weddings within a week of each other. I am excited to go because I will be able to see a friend from college that I haven't seen in over three years. Hopefully I will get around to posting pictures but for now...here is a list of things we have been doing.

1. Swim lessons for Carson in June: We had to be in Hagerman at 9:00 and that meant getting up early for us. Certain family members criticize our sleeping habits....but for right now we get to sleep in and so we enjoy it! Carson wasn't a huge fan of swim class but playing in the kiddie pool was his favorite.

2. Camping with Grandma and Grandpa Haney: End of June we went with my parents and Jill down to Nevada by the Pole Creek Ranger Station and camped overnight in the rain. There were a few other families and so Carson had kids to play with and loved it. It was a great spot and hopefully we can go back when it isn't raining.

3. 4th of July fun: I did the 5k walk again this year and got first in my age group (but also got smoked by ladies much older than me) Then we watched the parade and went to the park in Buhl. Dinner was at our house that night followed by fireworks.

4. July 7th to the 12th River Trip: I was able to spend a week on the Main Salmon River with my dad and sister Jill. This was so awesome for me! Everyone else in my family had been a big river trip but it finally worked out for to be able to go. Earlier in the year my dad asked if we wanted to go but I said I was planning on being a few months pregnant by July so I couldn't. Well that hasn't happened for us yet so I got to go. There were 22 people total in our group and I had so much fun with everyone. There were a bunch of kids and two of them were only 4. Carson would have loved it so maybe he can go in a few years. Carson and Zac had a great time at home and so many awesome people helped to watch Carson for us...Thanks!

5. Zac got a new (to him) truck. He loves it! It is a 2002 Dodge Dakota and is quite an improvement from the beat up Ranger he had for the last year. The main thing is that it has 4 wheel drive and will be better for the winter time.

6. Mid July we went to the Karl Brown Family reunion and had a blast! We have gone all 4 summers that we have been married. It was fun to see my cousins on my mom's side as we don't get together that often.

7. We snuck in a camping trip for just the three of us....I put up pictures on my Facebook account. It was awesome to see the places that Zac goes to find antlers and just get away for a few days. Carson loved it and on the way he said he needed his coat and hat for the rain.....I told him no rain on this camping trip!

8. Our BIG event of the summer was my sister Sarah getting married in the Twin Falls temple on July 31st. She was a beautiful bride and it was a great day.......you can go to the photographers blog to see some pics....... http://jasonwestphotography.com/blog/

Hopefully I will post some pictures but if not that is what we have been up to

Happy 4th of July!

Carson has a book , God Bless America....and when we read it to him I usually sing it. He picked up on the words and now he sings it to everyone.....At Costco with my mom (really loud) leaving the dressing room at Sears he stops and says, "guess what?" to some ladies and then proceeds to sing his song.....so cute! I tried to make a video but he was being kind of silly so I hope you can understand him!

Carson's birthday

Carson turned two on June 4th and he was so excited......for a week afterward he would still tell me, "happy birthday for Carson!" We had his friends from church over for an impromptu party and it rained...so we had to play inside. In all the madness I forgot to take pictures. Zac was working til very late on haylege for the dairy so our family brought over presents and Carson got to stay up until 10:45 when Zac came home so he could open up the presents from us. I LOVE this little guy so much! He brings so much joy to our lives and we are so blessed to have him in our home. He is so interested in the world around him and just loves to learn and explore!

Memorial Day

Every year Zac's Aunt hosts a Memorial Day Party. We have been 3 out of 4 years and only missed because I was due with Carson. It was so fun to see family! We had great food, fun games, and a beautiful day. Carson was so dirty by the time we got home but he loved it!

Carson is 2!!!!

I can't believe that my little boy is 2! We had a fun filled day that started with swimming lessons...then onto the store to get some things for his party.....came home had lunch and picked up the house.....ate lunch, then down for a quick nap.....I had to finish cupcakes and hurry and take a shower before guests came.....2:00-4:30 we had several little kids over for an impromptu party (I had planned on sending invites to nursery and never got it done).......cleaned up after the party......Grandma Jake and Tianna came over bearing presents...followed by Grandma and Grandpa Haney, Ryan and Kaci......dad stopped in for just a minute....and now we are just relaxing until dad gets home and we can open presents! Zac is working on silage this week at the dairy and it is keeping everyone really busy.

I took some pictures of Carson opening presents that I will post later on after I make it through the weekend. We are having a yard sale at my parents house and our niece Hailey is getting blessed.

We didn't have that great of a camera when Carson was born so my pictures aren't very good. Carson looked more like a little Mexican baby than one you would think belonged to us! He was 8lbs 8oz and 22 inches long....he had fat little cheeks for awhile. We love this little man so much and are constantly amazed at how fast he learns. He brings so much joy to our home and keeps us on our toes!

Asparagus

Growing up my family would go for a drive and pick asparagus. I have always love to eat it and now Zac does too. He had never had it until we were married (crazy, I know!) and Carson is a fan too. All along the road by our hay field there is a bunch growing. We picked it a few times for dinner and it was delicious.
